  1. San Francisco orders Apple, Google to remove nudify apps from app stores

    San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu sent cease-and-desist letters demanding Apple and Google immediately remove 13 "nudification" apps from their app stores. These apps manipulate ordinary photos to make it look like someone is undressed or swap faces onto explicit images, which Chiu says violates California's law against deepfake pornography. One flagged app had over a million downloads; Google said it had already suspended the apps for policy violations, and Apple said it had removed three and was addressing the rest.
